Current Assignment:

CPOE Project Manager – Large Midwest Health System

• Worked primarily with the IT physician liaison, the main physician CPOE champion, the IT Director of Clinical Systems, and the Cerner CPOE resources assigned to the project.
• Wrote and developed the CPOE Project Charter.
• Conducted the Cerner CPOE Readiness Assessment.
• Wrote and developed the CPOE Communication Plan.
• Facilitated Physician Workflow Analysis.
• Met with the ER Physician work group.
• Conducted inter-disciplinary CPOE awareness sessions.
• Developed the IT governance change recommendations to facilitate system-wide implementation.
• Key resource in the evaluation of Zynx on-line tools and evidence-based starter order sets.
• Worked with pharmacy staff to re-design the basic medication order code sets (route, form, frequency, and unit of measure).

• Expert knowledge of Cerner Millennium PharmNet® with particular strengths in workflow analysis, database design, core system build, formulary development, frequency build, billing code definition and build, form and label design, system testing, training, conversion, formulary maintenance, and drug cost updating.

• Primary resource for Cerner Millennium PharmNet® ongoing support including database maintenance.
• Led implementation of Pyxis MedStation 1000 System. Responsibilities included an interdisciplinary evaluation, Board of Directors presentation and the system wide installation.
